MAY 8th Pledge of Liberation

We need ALL HANDS ON DECK FOR THIS TEAM. Rep. Curbelo's vote to kill the ACA and pass a new healthcare bill today will not go unnoticed. His vote is a vote against women and those most vulnerable among us.

We will be protesting at his office at the Gato Building on Monday, May 8th, at 4:30pm. ***More details coming in email blast. Please make sure you have been receiving them or sign up if you’re not on our list:

On May 8, exactly 6 months after Election Day, join us (and sister demonstrations across the country) to PROTEST the #AHCA and remind our elected officials that WOMEN'S LIVES ARE AT STAKE.

Here’s what you can do:

1. Read and sign the Pledge of Liberation:

2. Join us for a protest at Rep. Curbelo’s office in the Gato Building, this Monday from 4:30 - 6pm. Please come AT 4:30 if you can.

Part of the Pledge of Liberation states that:
“We believe in Reproductive Freedom. We do not accept any federal, state or local rollbacks, cuts or restrictions on our ability to access quality reproductive healthcare services, birth control, HIV/AIDS care and prevention, or medically accurate sexuality education. “

Rep. Curbelo’s vote for the AHCA actively fails up uphold this principal. This bill was rushed through for political gain, without review from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, which means we don’t know how many families will lose health insurance, or what this bill will cost taxpayers. It profoundly changes Medicaid by rolling back state-by-state expansions of Medicaid, which covers millions of low-income Americans. The bill would also repeal many of the taxes imposed by the Affordable Care Act on high-income people, insurers and drug companies, among others.

Rep. Curbelo, we will hold you accountable for your vote.

We must come together in solidarity to love and support one another, as we did on January 21st. In unity, there is strength. Take the pledge and join us on Monday at 4:30pm the Gato Building.
